Mission Statement

Our mission is to channel creative talent into productive designing to solve real problems. Since we are a non-profit organization (or would be if we could get this going), donated money will be used to fund the winning designs. This will be done in a completely sustainable way, where the product will do no harm when it is no longer useful. If successful, Innovate For Tomorrow will help designers create interesting portfolios and find jobs, while simultaneously solving significant problems.

We would also like to create competitions for high schools and colleges/universities. Some could even work together, combining industrial design and mechanical engineering for example. This will allow students to get hands on experience, with the possibility of the final product actually being useful, instead of dusty display case material.

We think that all fields of study can help with our mission.
For example:

- Engineers and industrial designers can work together to create the products.
- Graphic designers can help with logos and any web or printed material.
- Advertising and marketing can help spread the word.
- Web designers/programmers can help with the site.
- Writers could write about us to spread the news—or write for us.
- Anyone else with a desire to help with his or her specific skill will also be encouraged to do so.

Who I am: My name is Jon Wilson and I am a young adult who thinks that there should be better outlets for gaining real world experience throughout college, and a place for those not in school to focus their problem solving skills within a community of similarly minded people.
